Across the Middle East, significant investment in AI, digital infrastructure and talent is increasingly being accompanied by a focus on implementation, scalability and value. Globally, a widening gap is emerging between organisations that are successfully translating AI into financial and operational returns and those that remain focused on experimentation and pilots. The collaboration is intended to help regional organisations assess where AI can create meaningful value and what is required to deploy it effectively at scale.

Helping organisations move from AI potential to practical deployment

The collaboration will combine PwC Middle East’s transformation and sector expertise with Axelera AI’s technology capabilities to help organisations assess which AI use cases are ready for deployment, what they require in terms of compute, data, skills and governance, and what outcomes can reasonably be expected.

The aim is to help leaders prioritise investment, sequence implementation effectively and move from experimentation towards scalable deployment.

Developing practical insight for regional decision-makers

The two organisations intend to develop shared perspectives, research and practical guidance to help regional decision-makers understand the opportunities, requirements and considerations associated with deploying AI in operational environments.

The focus will be on supporting informed decision-making around where AI can create value, what capabilities are required to deploy it effectively and how organisations can build the foundations needed to scale responsibly.

Exploring sector use cases linked to measurable outcomes

Together, the organisations plan to identify and test AI use cases across government, smart cities, energy, transport, manufacturing and digital infrastructure.

Potential applications will be assessed against measurable operational outcomes, including infrastructure reliability, asset performance, network efficiency, resource utilisation and improved real-time visibility across operations.

Any use cases developed through the collaboration will be considered within the appropriate governance, regulatory and operational frameworks relevant to the sector and market in which they are deployed.

“Ambition in this region is not the constraint, deployment economics are,” remarked Fabrizio Del Maffeo, CEO & Co-founder of Axelera AI. “Axelera technology ensures the cost and power budgets are respected while still delivering on all of the AI ambition customers have. PwC is a perfect partner to help our customers and clients get to their answers faster, and with fewer expensive mistakes.”

“The next chapter for AI in the Middle East is about translating ambition and investment into measurable value,” said Sharang Gupta, Partner, PwC Middle East. “That means moving beyond pilots and understanding what it takes to deploy AI reliably, responsibly and at scale. As intelligence increasingly moves closer to where decisions and operations happen, AI can become a command centre for organisations, bringing real-time insights to the point of action and enabling faster, smarter decision-making. Our collaboration with Axelera AI brings together advanced edge AI capabilities, sector expertise and transformation capability to help organisations connect AI investment to tangible operational outcomes and unlock greater value from intelligent, connected operations.”
