FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Granada Hills, CA — InterCoast Colleges has opened a new campus in Granada Hills, expanding access to career-focused vocational training for students in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding Los Angeles communities.

The Granada Hills campus was developed to provide students with a local option for pursuing hands-on and career-focused education in selected InterCoast programs. The campus currently offers the Electrical Training Program and Alcohol and Drug Counseling Studies, including certificate and degree options related to substance use disorder counseling.

“At InterCoast Colleges, our focus is to provide students with structured training, student support, and an educational environment that helps them build technical knowledge, professional skills, and confidence,” said a representative of InterCoast Colleges. “The Granada Hills campus allows us to serve more students in the Los Angeles area while continuing our mission of accessible career training.”

The Electrical Training Program is designed for students interested in learning foundational electrical concepts, safety practices, and practical skills used in the electrical field. Students receive training aligned with California requirements for electrical trainees. InterCoast Colleges does not provide an electrical license. In California, students pursuing work as electricians must follow state requirements, which may include obtaining an Electrical Trainee card, completing required work hours under supervision, and meeting applicable examination requirements.

The Granada Hills campus also offers Alcohol and Drug Counseling Studies, a program designed for students interested in learning about substance use disorder counseling, recovery support concepts, ethics, case management, counseling skills, and related professional practices. InterCoast also offers degree pathways in this field, including the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Substance Use Disorder Counseling. Students who pursue this field should understand that certification or licensure requirements are determined by outside agencies and may vary by state. InterCoast provides education and training but does not issue professional certification or licensure.

In addition to program-specific instruction, InterCoast Colleges emphasizes professional development, communication, problem-solving, and workplace readiness skills. The school’s approach is designed to support students as they develop both technical knowledge and the professional habits that may be useful in training-related environments.

The Granada Hills campus reflects InterCoast Colleges’ broader commitment to serving students from different backgrounds, including recent high school graduates, working adults, and individuals exploring a career change. Students may also have access to support services such as academic guidance, career services, and financial aid information for those who qualify.

InterCoast Colleges is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training and is approved to operate by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. Programs, schedules, and availability may vary by location.

The new Granada Hills campus represents another step in InterCoast Colleges’ continued effort to make vocational education more accessible in California. By offering training in skilled trades and behavioral health-related fields, InterCoast aims to provide students with educational options connected to areas of ongoing workforce need.
