CANDY DIGITAL’S 2026 MLB GOLD SERIES ICONS DEBUT WITH POWER, SELLING OVER $57,000 ACROSS A LOT OF 36 PACKS

Six of baseball’s most feared hitters headline the first release in Candy’s new Gold Series ICONs, sold through the debut of the Candy Digital Reverse Auction

FLORIDA, FL, UNITED STATES, August 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Candy Digital’s first 2026 MLB Gold Series ICONs release, Power, concluded tonight on candy.io, with all 36 packs claimed for a total of over $57,000 by 16 lucky bidders. The first pack was claimed at $2,500 and the last at $1,400.

Those are the lowest Rare and Epic edition sizes Candy has released. Two limited inserts were also in the mix: a Juan Soto Pixicon /5 and a Shohei Ohtani Momenticon /5.

THE CANDY DIGITAL REVERSE AUCTION
Power marked the debut of the Candy Digital Reverse Auction, a descending-price format. The price opened at $2,500 and dropped $100 every 60 seconds while packs remained, and collectors could claim a pack at the displayed price at any point. Every participant saw the same price, the same pack count and the same countdown at the same time.

“Candy collectors have always known premium when they see it, and tonight they claimed packs at $2,500, the highest we’ve ever sold,” said Matt Novogratz, co-founder of Candy Digital. “Gold Series was built to give players of this caliber a stage worthy of them, and we’re proud to have these six lead it off.”

“Thirty-six ICONs per player and not one more, enforced scarcity is something the auction world has understood for centuries,” said Tad Smith, CEO of Candy Digital. “Candy is building that same discipline into digital collecting.”
