ST. PETERSBURG, FL, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Northwest Collision Center Builds High-Roof Paint Center for RVs and Buses
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — September 2026 — Northwest Collision Center is installing a high-roof painting and refinishing center at its Tyrone Boulevard facility. It is designed for vehicles that will not fit a standard automotive paint bay, including RVs, buses, and luxury motorcoaches.
Vehicle height is one reason many body shops do not take on this work. A motorcoach or bus stands well above the clearance of a conventional booth, leaving roofs and upper panels to be handled outdoors or in sections. In some cases, those areas require additional work outside a conventional booth. The new center accommodates those vehicles from the outset, so a full-length coach moves through a controlled refinishing process rather than a workaround.
The build follows the company’s move into the luxury motorcoach segment earlier this year, with work centered on Prevost, Volkner Mobil, and Tiffin coaches. The center sits inside the 42,000-square-foot building the shop grew into from 17,000 square feet.
Northwest Collision Center has served St. Petersburg since 1959 and remains the city’s oldest collision repair center. It is I-CAR Gold Class certified, a standing held by roughly 10 percent of collision centers nationwide, factory approved by Mazda and Lexus, and BBB accredited. It has more than 680 five-star reviews and provides auto paint and refinishing in St. Petersburg for cars and light trucks. The team uses digital color matching to keep the finish consistent from panel to panel.
A Message From the Owner
“You cannot refinish a coach roof properly by working off a ladder. The new center lets us finish these vehicles to the same standard we hold on a car,” said Greg Descent, owner of Northwest Collision Center.
